About Lightwater Country Park
Lightwater Country Park is a protected site for rare birds and reptiles that breed and live there. Because of this I requested permission to hold our walking groups here. I would ask that you are considerate to the following conditions that must apply in order that we can take advantage of enjoying the wonderful scenery of the country park.
- Maximum size of groups must not exceed 12
- No dogs can be bought along to the walks
- We remain on the main paths ie the large ones
- The group must not cut across corners - you will see around the park that the Rangers have placed logs on path edges to try to stop trampling of the heather
- During the period of March through to August we only walk during daylight hours (there are rare birds that fly at dusk and dawn that are sensitive to disturbance)
- Walkers do not drop drinks bottles, snack wrappers en route.
