Sports massage is a deep tissue massage which helps to break down the muscle fibres so the muscle balance can be restored. When muscles become stressed, they cannot work smoothly, so they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue.

Receiving a regular sport massage may help prevent tension which can lead to injuries. Constant build-up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves.

What happens in a therapy session?

On your first visit the therapist will take your medical history, allow an extra 15 minutes for this. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and underwear. Your modesty will be covered at all times and you will be draped with a towel to protect any clothing from oils used.
